Abstract
The objective of this study is to identify the effect of social media usage on Hue City residents' perception and preventive behavior during Covid-19 pandemic. The research is based on S-O-R (Stimulus - Organism - Response) theory. Using a sample of 291 residents and applying Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) in data analysis, the study found that “Social media usage” directly affects “Trust in social media", "Risk perception about pandemic", and "Self-efficacy", thereby indirectly affecting the "Preventive behavior" of residents in Hue city. In addition, “Trust in social media" and "Risk perception about pandemic" also affect "Self-efficacy". Based on the results, some policies and managerial implications have been provided.
