Abstract
In this paper, we study the optical Stark effect of excitons in GaN/AlN quantum wells using renormalization wavefunction formulation. We investigated the absorption spectrum of excitons in an infinite quantum well under the effect of a strong resonant pump laserwith two-electron quantized levels. We also investigated the dependence of the ab-sorption probability on the width of the quantum well and the pump laser detuning. The re-sults indicatethat in the presence of a strong resonant pump laser with two quantized levels of electrons, two new absorption peaks of excitons appear in the absorption spectrum as clear evidence of the optical Stark effect in this quantum well structure.The results also show that the absorption spectrum of excitons are functions of the wellwidth.
