The application of ourliers to detecting potholes by using smartphones

Abstract

In the context of increasing road system as well as increasing demand for road transport, the role of road system maintenance, warning and repair is becoming increasingly important. Along with the popularity of smartphones that include multiple sensors, many methods used to detect the anomalies on the roads have been proposed. This paper aims to analyze some abnormal occurrences on the roads and propose some methods to find out anomalies by detecting outliers suitable for smartphones.
