DEVELOPING SUPPORTING INDUSTRIES IN VIETNAM TODAY

Abstract

Supporting industries have a groundbreaking role in reconstructing the industry in particular and the economy in general in the new stage of development in Vietnam. However, this issue has not received the appropriate concern. Thus, this writing  is aimed to refer to some specific characteristics and the important role of supporting industries in the development of the vietnamese economy and society today.           Supporting industries are enterprises of industrial production functioning as input supplies for others. Commencing from examining features of each economy, supporting industries are explored and examined with different viewpoints. This, quite new in Viet Nam today, has just been mentioned since the beginning of the year 2000 in the context of the growth in foreign direct investment. This paper focuses on identifying current supporting industries in Viet Nam, affirming the key roles of industry reconstruction and initial suggesting orientation as well as the key policies for supporting industry development.
