EXPLORING THE USE OF ENGLISH GRAMMAR PRACTICE ACTIVITIES FOR VOCATIONAL STUDENTS AT HUE INDUSTRIAL COLLEGE
Abstract
This study documents the use of the grammar practice activities (GPAs) in English classrooms at Hue Industrial College (HIC). The findings show that in spite of a lot of difficulties, HIC’s teachers carried out various kinds of practice activities and techniques in order to encourage their learners to practice the target grammar patterns. Noticeably, written activities tended to outnumber oral ones. The data also reveal that the teachers placed the most emphasis on the forms and rules of the language and paid the utmost attention to the conduction of meaningful practice activities. Based on the findings, it is suggested that the teachers need to have well-balanced use of GPAs which would be suitable to the students at the level of vocational classes.References
