EXPLORING LESSON STUDY AS A MEANS TO DEVELOP MATHEMATICS TEACHERS’ KNOWLEDGE
Abstract
This paper presents the results of the research on lesson study, a teacher-oriented professional development approach. The purpose of this research was to explore the progress of mathematics teachers’ knowledge base when they took part in lesson study activities. Data gathered from interviews, recordings and notes of classroom observations wereanalyzed qualitatively to reach the conclusion that lesson study is a professional development method to keep enriching mathematics teachers’ knowledge of content and pedagogyReferences
