Abstract

Student awareness and behavior towards plastic waste segregation plays an important role in successful sustainable waste management. Proper management of plastic waste is not only environmentally and economically efficient, but also involves many social issues. Therefore, it is important to know how to motivate students to behave more environmentally friendly. Therefore, determining what factors affect students' awareness of the use and classification of plastic waste plays an important role in this issue. This study collects data from 309 university students in Ho Chi Minh City. The research results show that the individual’s concern for the environment has an influence on attitudes, subjective standards, behavior control and these factors along with facilities have a direct influence on the intention of students to sort plastic waste in the city.
