Abstract
Teaching subjects through English is one of the most important tasks that the colleges of Hue university have to complete in implementing National Foreign Languages Project 2020 of Ministry of Education and Training in order to meet the society’s greater demands on subject knowledge and languages. This paper aims to introduce and state the literature review of the content and language integrated learning (CLIL) approach from researchers; then the authors report and analyze the results of their latest investigation into the reality of adaptation of CLIL approach in content classes taught through English at Hue University. The participants of this research were 10 content teachers at colleges of Hue University and 5 teachers of English at College of Foreign Languages, who teach subjects in English. Specifically, the paper reports on teachers’ awareness of the importance of CLIL approach, the focuses of their content classes, the frequency of using CLIL approach in content classes and difficulties the teachers have met in teaching subjects through English. Research Methodologies include: 1, a questionnaire for teachers. 2, interviews with a list of questions. At the end of this paper, the authors deal with implications for adapting CLIL approach effectively at Hue University
