Abstract
Abstract. Teaching translation for English major students in universities of foreign languages has become more important and more urgent due to the increasing demands of jobs in the inevitable trend towards global integration, especially the rise of international organizations and multinational corporations entering to Vietnam’s markets. The use of computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools is having a considerable impact on the quality of translation training. This paper aims to investigate the use of CAT tools in general and Wordfast software in particular by students of the English Department, College of Foreign Languages, Hue University. Based on the experimental results obtained from a short-term training course on Wordfast for students attending Translation Practice classes, this article proposes some recommendations on the application of this software to teaching translation at Hue College of Foreign Languages and to other institutions in Vietnam.
